GEORGE JOHN ROOK; was born about 1809 at Boughton Under Blean; he was Christened at Boughton Church on the 23rd July 1809. He died January 6th 1878. Whitstable Times and Herne Bay Herald Deaths (19.01.1878) states 'Jan.6, at 3, Cossington-road, Mr. George Rook, late of Faversham, aged 68'.
George married SARAH SUTTON on 19th April 1832 at Boughton Church. The marriage was witnessed by Thomas Sutton and Susan Rook (Susannah).
Sarah was born about 1812 at Boughton Under Blean. She was christened on 12th April 1812 at Boughton Church. Her parents were Thomas Sutton and Susanna Elizabeth Noble ? Sarah died on 3rd December 1883 at Canterbury. Whitstable Times and Herne Bay Herald Deaths (15.12.1883) states 'ROOK - on the 3rd December, at Canterbury, Sarah, widow of the late George Rook, of Faversham, aged 71 years'.

I can only assume that Walter starts referring to himself as John after the 1871 census. He is probably the John Rook staying with his sister (?) Susannah Ralph in Canterbury at the time of the 1891 census. I'm unable to locate him in 1881 & 1901 as yet.
